USHA - “Usha” literally means ‘dawn’, a time just before sunrise, when the mind and body are fully rejuvenated. So, just as the name suggests, our daytime stress formula, Usha, made using time-tested and proven herbs, is a product that will assist you in maintaining high energy levels throughout the day helping you overcome stress naturally, the ayurvedic way.
Causes of stress: In today’s fast paced lives most of us suffer from stress, be it related to personal or professional issues. Westerners describe stress as a mentally or emotionally disruptive or upsetting condition occurring in response to adverse external influences, capable of affecting physical and mental health. High powered job pressures, domestic strife, financial instabilities, addiction to alcohol & smoking, traffic snarls, meeting deadlines, growing-up tensions, problems with relationships etc would all be causes of stress, putting both the mind and body out of sync.
Symptoms of stress: How can you cope with stress and anxiety? The trick lies in recognising the symptoms at an early stage. Increased heart rate, a rise in blood pressure, muscular tension, irritability, inability to focus properly, fatigue and depression are some of the most common stress-related diseases.
Our remedy for stress management: Our hectic schedules generally prevent us from being aware of our physical and mental well being. Lack of time and energy prevent timely and corrective actions, and as a result the stress induced adverse feelings and anxieties often escalate. Insufficient knowledge and experimentation with various stress management techniques can prove to be dangerous. This is where our daytime stress formula ‘Usha’ can act as an excellent cure for overcoming stress. Made using time-tested and proven herbs, it rejuvenates both the mind and body. It has been especially formulated keeping in mind the over worked, over stressed individual - helping greatly in calming the senses and boosting energy levels all day long!
NISHA - Spending the better part of the night pacing around the house or simply counting sheep because you just cannot sleep? Stress, anxiety, or a mind that is in constant active mode do not make the most ideal conditions for a restful night’s sleep. This is where our night time stress formula Nisha can prove to be a most effective ayurvedic remedy. Nisha according to ancient Indian texts actually means ‘night’. Our product, made using natural ayurvedic herbs, is not a sedative but rather helps in calming the mind and soothing the senses. It is also useful in getting rid of all the excess, unwanted thoughts, ensuring a deep, peaceful whole night’s sleep. And what’s more... as it does not make the user drowsy, Nisha is also an excellent adjunctive herb for meditation and yoga practice.it is also non addictive.
Lack of a sound and peaceful sleep can be potentially harmful to your health (Insomnia is one of the most common sleep disorders). Extreme work pressures, problems with relationships, unhealthy food and lifestyle habits, dependence on alcohol and high intake of caffeine, hypertension are all primary stress inducers resulting in sleep deprivation. Not getting enough sleep can result in accidents on the job and on the road; reduce your focus and concentration, affect your relationships, health, and mental prowess and leave you feeling lethargic and sluggish. In order to tackle sleep deprivation, it is essential to be aware of its symptoms.
Having difficulty falling asleep despite being tired, awakening too early in the morning despite not feeling refreshed, daytime drowsiness, fatigue, and irritability, awakening frequently during the night or lying awake in the middle of the night, requiring sleeping pills or alcohol to fall asleep are some of the most common signs of stress-related sleep disorders. Studies show that a normal human being spends his one-third life asleep. A lack of restorative rest can have far more long term health consequences than just sleepiness. For long, ancient ayurveda has maintained that the right herbal remedy can help resolve obvious symptoms of anxiety. And based exactly on these teaching we have come up with our night-time stress formula Nisha.

USHA - Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera): Ancient Ayurvedic herbal medicine has recommended ashwagandha for thousands of years as a “brain herb” and energy tonic. Simply put, ashwagandha reconnects the circuits in the brain that have been broken by stress, helping reduce anxiety, relieving depression, infusing vital energy and restoring a calm mind. And crucially, Ashwagandha also bolsters the immune system. Laboratory studies suggest that this herb is an adaptogen (a natural herb product that can help increase the body's resistance to stress, anxiety, trauma and fatigue) which increases the activity of healthy tissues to withstand infection and toxic exposure. It helps normalize physiological functions whether they are ‘too fast’ or ‘too slow’. And importantly it has no side effects. Shatavari: The name shatavari means ‘one which has many roots’. It is greatly useful in reducing the long term effects of a stressful lifestyle. It refers to the remarkable restorative effect of the herb on a woman’s sexuality. Shatavari is to women what ashwagadha is to men, although it is beneficial to both men and women. The herb exerts its effects not on the reproductive tract, but rather on the digestive tract. Shatavari ensures that metabolic energies go downward in the body rather than up. It helps food metabolize quickly and keeps gas from building up in the colon.
NISHA - The product contains two ayurvedic herbs that are known to bring night-time relief, ensuring your mind is in a calm and peaceful state, purged of all excess thoughts, allowing your body to take the rest that it requires. As Nisha is not a sedative it does not cause drowsiness. More importantly, as Nisha allows you to slow your thought process, it is also very helpful during meditation and yoga practice. Brahmi (Bacopa monniera) : Brahmi is used as both herb and vegetable, as a cure for stress and anxiety. Although in India ayurveda has been using brahmi in various formulas for thousands of years, as an herbal remedy to cure stress-related diseases, scientific research to confirm the effectiveness of the herb is in its early stages. An experiment with animals found that brahmi helps the brain restore the enzymes that help it clear away stress hormones. Jatamansi (Spikenard) (Nardostachys jatamansi): Jatamansi is the Himalayan equivalent of the calmative herb valerian, but without its sedative effects. Jatamansi helps relax the muscles. Basic biological research suggests that it blunts the effects of histamine your body makes during allergies. Laboratory studies have shown that Jatamansi protects the brain from the effects of poor circulation. In another study, it increased production of the anti-depressant chemical serotonin (serotonin is a monoamine neurotransmitter synthesised in serotonergic neurons in the central nervous system (CNS) and enterochromaffin cells in the gastrointestinal tract of animals including humans.
